Gujarat NRE Coke has been in the forefront of community development. Through various initiatives the company has nicely intertwined itself with the society at large and has today become a part and parcel of the community it operates. The company has become an agent of development in its hinterland through its sensitive response to their needs.

Prize distribution of Essay Competition at Gujarat NRE-AMA Centre for National Integrity on 4th January, 2010

IIM, Ahmedabad

• Building a metallic road of about 10 Km that connects Lunva village in Bhachau, Gujarat with the National Highway 8A in public private partnership.

• Contribution to an eye hospital (Lalitaben Premjibhai Badiyani Eye Hospital) in Khambhalia, Gujarat.

• Contributed in building a High School in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

• Drinking water arrangement for students at the primary school in Dharampur village near Khambhalia.

• Reimbursement of transportation charges for children of Danta village to the Khambhalia school.

• Organised blood donation camps at Bhachau and Dharwad.

• Organised a refreshment and rest camp for pilgrims travelling to Dwarka during the festival of Holi. The camp was organized at village Danta, on the State Highway leading to Dwarka.

• Beautification of Ghee Dam at Khambhalia, by building a children’s park adjacent to the dam.

• Gujarat NRE Coke partnered with Centre for Environment Education in organising an Open House session on 5th June 2009, to commemorate World Environment Day. The theme of the World Environment Day 2009, sponsored by Gujarat NRE Coke, was “Your Planet Needs You-Unite to Respond to Climate Change.” The event presented an ideal opportunity for the school children and the youth to express their creativity as well as create awareness on environmental issues through various games and activities.

• Organized and sponsored various cultural and sports events in Ahmedabad and Kolkata. Gujarat NRE Coke Women’s Challenger, 2008 organised by Bengal Tennis Association in Kolkata from 17th Nov to 22nd November 2008 was one among them.
